CPDA PAC
It is no surprise to anyone that it takes political contributions to be successful in Congress. For our industry to really make its voice heard in Washington, CPDA’s Political Action Committee, CPDA PAC, needs your support.
By joining forces with your fellow CPDA members through the PAC, you can maximize the industry’s political clout and help ensure that what is being legislated is productive to your business interests. Contributions go directly to helping candidates win elections to Congress.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking someone else will make a contribution for you!
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the money used for? CPDA PAC makes campaign contributions to agriculture industry champions in Congress. Contributions are also used to build bridges to those Leaders and Members of Congress whose support we need.
Why should I contribute to CPDA PAC? Every association in Washington needs PAC dollars to be effective advocates of their members. PAC dollars cannot come from membership dues or other revenue. CPDA PAC can only be made strong through the individual support from a determined membership.
Is it tax deductible? Contributions are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Also, corporate contributions are prohibited, so the money has to come from an individual’s personal funds. Federal law also requires CPDA to report the name, mailing address, occupation and employer of each individual who contributes more than $200 in an election cycle. You can give up to $5000 to CPDA PAC in a calendar year.
Why must the contribution be from personal funds? Corporate contributions (operating funds from an incorporated entity) are prohibited by federal law.
What are the benefits of contributing? Policies coming out of Congress have a direct impact on our industry and with PAC dollars we have a seat at the table.
